Who we are

We enjoy research
We are both graduates of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology of the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava (FEI STU), where we now work as associate professors at the Institute of Power and Applied Electrical Engineering. We like challenges, but most of all we like successful projects that move us and our clients forward.
Results always reflect the latest scientific knowledge
Delivered studies always have a professional form and make the results easy to navigate
Beyond our main areas of focus, we are happy to take on projects that are a little different from time to time, and it is not always only about money. So if you think you have an interesting idea, we will gladly read about it in an e-mail or hear it over a coffee in our office.

Assoc. Prof. Matej Cenký, PhD.
He completed his doctoral studies in 2018 with the dissertation Electrical Parameters of Overhead Power Lines. He gained his first practical experience at SPIE Elektrovod in the design of overhead lines. Today he is an associate professor and deputy head of the Power Engineering Department at the Institute of Power and Applied Electrical Engineering of FEI STU. His expertise covers unbalance calculations of overhead lines, hazardous effects of power lines on metallic telecommunication cables and the development of specialised software tools for power engineering.
His research focuses on complex power system modelling, stochastic methods for assessing the impact of distributed energy resources on power quality and modelling the potential of photovoltaic and agrivoltaic installations over large areas using open data. He is the author of a university textbook and dozens of papers indexed in WoS and Scopus with more than 120 citations, a member of CIGRE and a reviewer for MDPI and Springer journals. He received the SEZ-KES President's Prize for the experimental verification of the sufficient separation distance for external lightning protection.

Assoc. Prof. Jozef Bendík, PhD.
A graduate of FEI STU in Bratislava, where he now works as an associate professor at the Institute of Power and Applied Electrical Engineering. Already during his studies he worked for SPIE Elektrovod, where he started to deal with overhead power lines and the electromagnetic fields around them. He defended his dissertation, Electromagnetic Fields in the Vicinity of Overhead Power Lines, in 2018 and received the Aurel Stodola Prize for the best dissertation for it. He is a laureate of the Student Personality of Slovakia award for 2017/2018 and, together with Matej Cenký, holder of the SEZ-KES President's Prize for the experimental verification of the separation distance of lightning protection systems.
His research covers complex power system modelling, stochastic methods for assessing the impact of distributed energy resources on power quality and the processing of big data in the power sector. He is the author of a university textbook on the design of overhead power lines and of more than 40 papers indexed in WoS and Scopus with 120 citations, publishes regularly at IEEE conferences and has taken part in national and EU research projects.
